From his very first weeks as Coventry City manager Steven Pressley clearly rated the talents of the young striker named Callum Wilson who at that stage was on the fringes of the first-team picture.

Wilson was handed his chance in the final throes of the 2012/13 campaign, netting his first senior goal as a substitute in the 2-2 draw against Colchester United in March 2013.

Fast forward a year or so and the bittersweet (for the manager) fruits of Pressley’s labour are evident in the £2m+ sale of Wilson to AFC Bournemouth.

Can he now repeat the trick with another young forward as at least one member of the existing squad is earmarked to be part of first team plans for the forthcoming season.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph recently Pressley said: ‘We’re working really hard on bringing in new strikers and I want to work with four. One of those will be one of our young strikers who I have great faith in – that will be either James Maddison or George Thomas – and we want to bring in a further three.’
