Can City Whitewash Their Paint Frustrations?

Coventry City’s home game against Yeovil this Saturday may feel like the morning after the night before but Mark Robins will argue, convincingly, that it is a much more important fixture to the Sky Blues than their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash with Crewe.

Both City and the Glovers are right in the thick of the League One play-off race and a win for either could lift them into the top six come Saturday evening.

There was little wrong with the way City played in defeat on Tuesday night. They may have been guilty of pushing forward too much after going a goal behind but had they taken just one of their opportunities it would have been a different story. In the league they have been excellent in recent weeks and Robins has the options at his disposal to freshen up a team that looked all out at the final whistle.

‘We’re still a bit shell-shocked but in football you can’t dwell on things,’ skipper Carl Baker told the Coventry Telegraph.

Yeovil are also in fine form having beaten promotion candidates Brentford last Saturday before their midweek game at Oldham was called off. It leaves them with games to catch up on and manager Gary Johnson said: ‘We are disappointed, and if this happens too many more times we are not going to have too many weeks left in the season.’
