Speaking to the local press ahead of his side’s game with Coventry City on Saturday afternoon, Mansfield Town manager Steve Evans said of the Sky Blues that ‘they’ve got a fantastic array of talent.

‘They’ve got a few players that we’d have liked to have brought here.

‘There’s a lot of big clubs in this league but Coventry City are by far the biggest.’

A nice bit of playing down the prospects for a Stags victory from the Scot, someone who divides opinion in the game but whose record of winning promotions has few equals.

His Mansfield side are bang in form at a crucial part of the season and go into the game having beaten fellow promotion rivals Newport County and Exeter City in their last two matches.
