Coventry City are confident that Saturday’s home game against Lincoln City will be one of the few Football League fixtures to beat the clutches of the weather that has bombarded the nation this week.

The Ricoh Arena pitch is playable and the club also feel that the areas around the ground are safe for supporters.

A bigger than average crowd was due for the game as Lincoln were set to bring a healthy travelling support but the Lincolnshire area has been particularly hard hit in recent days and the Imps have urged their fans to journey only if it is safe to do so.

As at 8pm on Friday night only the games at City, Cambridge and Carlisle look set to go ahead in League Two and that means a home win at the Ricoh will push Mark Robins side into the play-off places.
