Coventry City are keen to sign Jacques Maghoma this summer but, transfer embargo not withstanding, face fierce competition from a number of clubs.

The 25-year-old scored 18 times in the season just ended and is set to receive a host of offers now that his Burton Albion contract is due to expire.

‘There’s absolutely no point sitting down with him because his intention is to further his career and move on,’ Burton boss Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby.

‘He has some good options and money-wise I am sure it will be three or four times what we could offer him.’

Rowett feels that Maghoma is a ‘gem’ whose style of play will certainly catch the eye.
