Coventry City gained a huge three points in freezing conditions at Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday evening, Marc McNulty converting an 82nd minute penalty for the only goal of the game against a home side currently in the automatic promotion places in League Two.

Added to Saturday’s battling point at Mansfield (whose manager Steve Evans quit on Tuesday) with ten men and it means the Sky Blues have revived promotion hopes with two excellent away displays.

The win lifts them up to 8th place in the table, above this weekend’s opponents Lincoln City and back to within three points of the play-off places with a game in hand on the side directly above them, Swindon Town.
