Coventry City made their first visit to the Amex Stadium, new home of Brighton & Hove Albion, on Saturday afternoon, looking to build on a rare good week which saw them battle back to earn a point against high-flying Cardiff City and then make the loan signing of highly-rated Aston Villa youngster Gary Gardner.

Hosts Albion were keen to take three points themselves, a flying start to life in the Championship having given way to a poor run of form.

Gardner made an immediate impact on his debut, netting a quickfire equaliser following a Keogh own goal but Vincelot scored the winner for the hosts before half-time.

The Sky Blues were more than a match for their opponents but could not find an equaliser, the game as a whole summing up their season to date as the relegation quicksand deepens around them.
