‘It’s a game we need and one we’re looking forward to. It’s a decider for us.’

No mistaking in Aidy Boothroyd’s words how important Saturday’s home league clash between Coventry City and Crystal Palace has become for the home side, whose slow slide down the Championship table is in danger of gathering pace unless they arrest an alarming slump in form against the Eagles.

The match has been given an extra edge by the off-field stories that have been making the Sky Blues headlines this week with chairman Ray Ranson and his former vice-chairman seemingly at odds with the club’s owners.

SISU have come in for their share of stick but at this point remain the only show in town as far as the running of the club is concerned and to that end City fans have to hope that matters on the field of play start to turn themselves around.

Boothroyd will be pleased therefore that his injury crisis is starting to show signs of slowing down and remained his permanently upbeat self when previewing the game for the official club website, hoping that the change in the weather is matched by a change in the Sky Blues’ fortunes.
