As expected, Coventry City forward Callum Wilson is reportedly the subject of a bid from Championship side Bournemouth this weekend, one that has been knocked back by the Sky Blues.

The Cherries have made their move after selling 26-year-old forward Lewis Grabban.

Bournemouth received a record fee from newly-relegated Norwich City for the player who netted 22 times last season.

‘It is a huge amount of money,’ said manager Eddie Howe, ‘especially when you take into account the investment that was made in Grabs just two years ago.’

City have long maintained they have no interest in selling Wilson but their resolve will be sorely tested over the coming months.
