Sheffield Wednesday are the next opponents for Coventry City, with a clash at Hillsborough on Saturday.

The game will be a tough test. The Owls have lost only once at home in the league this season.

For the Sky Blues however, playing away from home will be a blessing in disguise at present.

The Ricoh Arena in recent weeks has been half-full, but for a vocal minority inside, the glass has been half-empty.

Of course there always needs to be an element of the team driving on the fans with upbeat, committed performances, but the atmosphere surrounding the team has been horribly negative at times.

Contrast that with City’s last away game, the excellent 1-0 win at Birmingham, after which Chris Coleman praised the travelling support for their, er, support.

‘We have had our problems at the Ricoh Arena where we have not been as flowing or looked as solid as we have in our away games,’ Coleman told The Telegraph this week.

‘Maybe Saturday’s game will give us a bit of breathing space because we are not in front of our home fans.

‘And if we can get something out of the game then we can start again and put a little run together.’

There will be more of the same at Hillsborough, and hopefully, similar performances to those seen at Bramall Lane, Molineux and St Andrew’s among others this season.
