Another former Scotland international centre-half has joined Steven Pressley in landing a League One manager’s job with David Weir becoming the new Sheffield United boss.

After a lengthy search to replace Danny Wilson on a permanent basis the Blades have settled on the ex-Everton and Rangers man to take on the task of finally getting the perennial promotion favourites out of the division.

Elsewhere in League One, former (for about fifteen minutes during which time he scored a winning goal against Newcastle) Sky Blues striker Mick Harford has left his role as assistant manager at MK Dons.
