‘They will be a difficult team to beat and we have to be at our best to beat them.’

Mark Robins, speaking to the official CCFC website on Thursday, knows that Coventry City will need to turn in another professional FA Cup display on Saturday if they are to earn a 3rd Round place and the chance to reverse the favourites tag that is placed on them for the game against Morecambe.

The League Two Shrimps are currently in 16th place this season but defeated the Sky Blues in the League Cup two seasons ago and will travel to CV6 with no pressure on them for the game.

They will not be facing City’s top goalscorer David McGoldrick as he has not been granted permission to play by Nottingham Forest but Robins has challenged his replacement to take their opportunity.

Stephen Elliott, Cody McDonald, Roy O’Donovan and Callum Ball are all battling for the chance to replace McGoldrick.

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley will meet up with his former teammate Carl Baker at the Ricoh Arena and said: “He will be one of Coventry`s biggest threats for sure and we will have to watch him closely.”
