Coventry City ended an encouraging season on a high note with Sunday’s 3-1 win over Cardiff, meaning the Sky Blues finished eighth in the Championship table.

‘We are a progressive club and for the first time people are starting to talk about football here and how we can go on and improve the squad,’ said manager Micky Adams after the game.

‘We had a chance to make the top 10 and we hadn’t done that since relegation.

‘Now we have finished eighth and that is a fantastic achievement. The set-up here is terrific.’
