Despite slipping to defeat at Elland Road, Coventry City turned in a more than creditable performance, creating a number of chances and remaining in with a shout of getting at least a draw until near the end of the game.
Manager Micky Adams said afterwards: ‘It wasn’t our day. It’s all about scoring goals and we have created chances and then been a little bit unfortunate.
‘It looked as though we dominated. We played terrific football and frustrated Leeds but as I said before it’s all about scoring.
‘We came here full of confidence and I think it showed.’
Leeds assistant manager Sam Ellis knew that his promotion-chasing side had been in a battle, commenting afterwards: ‘It is the third time we have been pegged back and gone on to win at home and it was a tough game today.’
