Having signalled his desire to move away from Coventry City this summer, winger Kyel Reid got his wish on Monday when securing a loan switch to League Two rivals Colchester United.

Mark Robins made his plans for the season without factoring in the 29-year-old and will no doubt be pleased to have offloaded a player who was not going to feature ahead of the closure of the transfer window.

Occasionally capable of hitting the heights, Reid turned in an excellent display at Wembley when City won the Football League Trophy but did little else to stand out during the Sky Blues relegation campaign.

Undoubtedly talented, Colchester will be the 11th professional club that Reid has made a senior appearance for.
