A Long Way From Old Trafford

Nottingham Forest’s training complex on a dismal Monday afternoon in December must have seemed a long way from Reece Brown’s dreams of making it as a Manchester United player as the 21-year-old Coventry City loanee searches for a way back into the first-team picture at the Ricoh Arena.

Brown is with the Sky Blues for the season and started the campaign as a first choice under Andy Thorn. His displays showed glimpses of an Old Trafford upbringing, albeit with the occasional daydream while in possession.

He was also part of the side for Mark Robins’ first three games in charge but the City boss has since settled on the more experienced and battle-hardened duo of Richard Wood and William Edjenguele.

At 21 you have to imagine that if Brown is not standing out at League One level then his chances of becoming a United regular are slim but there appears to have been no tantrums from the player himself and there is still time for him to make an impact with CCFC.
