The Sky Blues, together with the Coventry Telegraph have launched a bid to boost attendances at the Ricoh Arena at a crucial point in the club’s history.

Fans are being urged to buy tickets for the upcoming games against Watford, Colchester and West Ham to get gates past the 23,000 break-even figure and provide some breathing space in the battle to avoid the a-word.

Chairman Joe Elliott added: ‘We have got a fantastic young manager who has got a great chance of pushing the club further in the Cup and to the play-offs and, hopefully, promotion this season.

‘His job will be made so much easier with the full backing of the fans so if you have not been to a game for a while or never been before, we would love to see you at the games.

‘We would like to see the city of Coventry showing its support to its football team in its time of need.’
