Michael Mifsud is set to complete his move to Bristol City this week after handing in a transfer request at the Ricoh Arena.

Sky Blues chairman Ray Ranson told the Coventry Telegraph: “We don`t see any complications and fully expect the deal to go through this week.”

At a reported fee of £1.5m, the sale looks a decent bit of business for a player who only has a year left on his current contract.

Mifsud was touted for a £5m move to the Premier League after his cup heroics last season but his league form was inconsistent and his ratio of goals to chances was poor.

He will undoubtedly get a warm reception if he features for Bristol City at the Ricoh on August 23 (unless the Sky Blues put in the kind of clause that always seems to stop our new signings playing against their old clubs) but the time looks right on both sides for the ‘Mosquito’ to move on.
